Mindful Action presents:

GREATER PERFORMANCE & WELLBEING THROUGH MINDFULNESS AT WORK

Melbourne, Australia  15th and 16th OCTOBER 2015

Mindfulness training for leaders, business professionals and employees

  • Do you want to increase your productivity and achieve greater results—without working longer hours?
  • Do you want to feel more ‘in control’, less overwhelmed, and less affected by stressful situations?
  • Do you want to inspire others, lead with cooperation and have more confidence in your decisions?

At Mindful Action we’ve conducted many workshops, here in Australia and overseas equipping people (from CEOs to athletes) with the skills to create these changes. Our two-day workshop is designed for all organisational levels and backgrounds—including business, non-profit, education, health and wellness, and government.

CHANGE YOUR MIND & BRAIN: What is mindfulness and how will it help me?

A 2013 study by Harvard University found that mindfulness meditation significantly increases the density of grey matter—the regions of the brain involved in memory, decision-making and self-control. Most affected is the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) region, increasing our ability to:

  • purposefully direct attention and behaviour;
  • suppress inappropriate knee-jerk responses;
  • switch strategies flexibly;
  • resist distractions; and
  • learn from past experiences to support optimal decision-making.

Mindfulness also reinforces the hippocampus, leading to increased resilience against stress and stress-related disorders.

Mindfulness can be described as: “Paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally." It’s a profound way to enhance psychological and emotional resilience and increase life satisfaction.

"Mindfulness is literally presence of mind, the ability to maintain a level of awareness of what is in us and around us without elaboration. The practice of mindfulness is much more than present moment awareness, it includes and facilitates the cultivation of concentration, wisdom, and ethical action that fosters well being and genuine happiness in all our lives ."

Research shows that mindfulness training actually changes our brains. And while mindfulness is the current buzzword in the business world, its benefits are backed by hard, scientific evidence.

One of the most common methods of mindfulness practice is meditation, but there are other techniques we can use to achieve tangible benefits.

During this two-day workshop, we’ll show you how to use these techniques in the workplace and beyond—improving your concentration, personal performance, leadership skills and relationships.

Through custom-designed presentations, small-group sessions, exercises, attention-training sessions, and group discussions, you’ll learn how to use mindfulness to:

  • Become a more inspiring and connected leader  present, engaged, consistent and committed.
  • Increase employee engagement and performance
  • Create authentic workplace communication and relationships
  • Reduce stress, worry and fear
  • Embrace (and even benefit from) uncertainty
